On Saturday, March 14, the BSCB Social Committee hosted a Story Slam virtually on Zoom. About 25 persons attended, and 10 story tellers regaled the audience with sometimes funny and sometimes poignant tales.
A story slam is an opportunity to tell a favorite story to a crowd. It’s like karaoke (that is “kareeoki” for screen reader users) without the music. Stories needed to be a maximum of ten minutes in length.
Jerry Berrier, DeAnn Elliott, and Bill Henderson were awarded $25 Amazon gift cards for their stories by a distinguished judging panel composed of Cheryl Cumings and Nona Haroyan, with Tim Cumings acting as emcee and Jeanette Kutash as our timekeeper and Zoom host.
