I received a few e-mails recommending other word games after April’s article. I am sharing them with you all. I confess to not having tried any of these yet. If you do, let me know how it goes! If you have discovered any recently, please send them along…

There is an app called “Zanagrams,” which was developed by a blind software developer who is formally from the military. It contains puzzle packs, which are fun to do as well. You might want to check that out.

I learned of this from an ACB community call that appeared on the Community podcasts. It is an app called “Letterfull.” It costs $2.99, but it’s well worth it. You have to form words out of letters that appear on the screen, by double tapping the letters you want to make a word out of. You get points for your word similar to Scrabble points. Your goal is to beat your highest score. The addictive part is that the letters begin to appear faster and faster and once there are 20 or 25 letters on the screen that you have not yet made into words, your game is over, considered to be Letterfull. This is the first ever iPhone game that I feel seriously addicted to, to the point of getting cramps in my hands from holding the phone and tapping so deliberately! There are no charges after paying the first $2.99 Enjoy!

If you’d like anagrams, this game is very slow but you can play it over many days or weeks. Search for “worder free.” Basically, you are finding as many words as you can make out of the seven letters they give you. There’s always at least one seven-letter word you can make—just double tap on a letter to start making a word and double tap on enter when your word is completed. Swipe around and you will see the list of words you have made thus far. If you double tap on worder it rearranges the letters.
